Mission

Modern life is stressful and a lot of people lack the necessary guidance. There is a deep need to empower the modern individual, and our aim is to empower individuals physically and mentally so they can best achieve what they want from life.

Actionable Approaches

We have taken some of the greatest traditions in human history, combined it with modern knowledge and thinking, and worked it into programs that can empower the individual.

If everyone wanted to achieve the best for themselves and society, we would be in an incredible position. Our programs have the lofty goal of achieving this both physically and mentally.

Our approaches give you the strength to meet responsibility

Do you feel you could achieve that little bit more? That you're not working towards what you really want? Starting that business, that new hobby or habit, that aesthetic? You're far from the only one, and we have decided to create a set of programs that empowers people to do these things.

The decline of religion and growth of science since the Enlightenment – not that one has to be religious to see it – has left a void in spirituality. Combine this with jobs that feel meaningless and the looming threat of jobs being replaced by artificial intelligence, a lack of faith in politicians and political systems, disconnection from the growth of technology, social media and the COVID-19 pandemic; it’s no wonder a lot of people feel unempowered and disenchanted. The growth of mental health problems and lack of satisfaction signals a trend that writers like Dostoyevsky and Nietzsche nave long predicted.

The best way to arm yourself is to invest in yourself. To learn about how best to manage your wellbeing, how to lead a purpose-led life and to manage both your physical and mental potential. We believe the philosophers of Stoicism and Spartan society excelled at these two aspects. For one, they had belief systems and structures in place to instil purpose, and act upon it. We model our approaches with this in mind, as well as drawing upon thinkers such as Nietzsche, Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell.

This site is unique. We utilise psychology, philosophy, even mythology, to empower you physically and mentally. You’re putting into practice tactics and strategies adopted from the greatest thinkers without having to read hundreds of books. We have even aimed to make them as affordable as possible so that you can improve in several areas and actually have a structure, rather than just fruitlessly trying to fix things and getting frustrated. This is high level thinking distilled into practical action you can actually use.

To do this, we developed specialist programs on becoming more disciplined, evaluating your purpose, modelling your mental approach on Stoicism, your physical approach on the Spartans (whilst also being implemented by qualified personal trainers) and more.

We know how it feels to fail again and again - we've been there. We created these programs as the perfect thing that would have helped when we stuck in various spiritual ruts, be it dealing with anxiety, having a lack of purpose, or trying to improve our daily habits. You can see all of our programs at our programs page here, or get started here

Anyway, here's what I do: I imagine to myself that a testing time is drawing near, that the day that is going to see judgement pronounced on the whole of my past life has actually arrived, and I take a look at myself and address myself in these terms: 'All that I've done or said up to now counts for nothing. My showing to date, besides being heavily varnished over, is of paltry value and reliability as a guarantee of my spirit. I'm going to leave it to death to settle what progress I've made. Without anxiety, then, I'm making ready for the day when the tricks and disguises will be put away and I shall come to a verdict on myself, determining whether the courageous attitudes I adopt are really felt or just so many words, and whether or not the defiant challenges I've hurled at fortune have been mere pretence and pantomine. Away with the world's opinion of you - it's always unsettled and undivided. Away with the pursuits that have occupied the whole of your life - death is going to deliver the verdict in your case. Yes, all your debates and learned conferences, your scholarly talk and collection of maxims from the teachings of philosophers, are in no way indicative of genuine spiritual strength. Bold words come from even the timidest. It's only when you're breathing your last that the way you've spent your time will become apparent. I accept the terms, and feel no dread of the coming judgement.' That's what I say to myself, but assume that I've said it to you as well. You're younger than I am, but what difference does that make? No count is taken of years. Just where death is expecting you is something we cannot know; so, for your part, expect him everywhere.
